"Five months after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast Rob Johns of the Victoria & Esquimalt Emergency Social Services team visited southern Louisiana and Mississippi. The goal was to speak to local citizens, officials, planners, FEMA representatives, and representatives from non-government organizations and to learn about the recovery process to date. In this presentation he will briefly look at the recovery process and how learning can be applied to local communities in British Columbia." |
